Olga was involved in a road bike accident in 1997, which led to substantial damage of her knee joint. Following on from this injury Olga underwent 8 operations, suffered postural issues and a loss of her dream nursing career. Having completed hours of gruelling physio and corrective exercise Olga was unable to find a sports discipline to correctly support her joints, posture and keep her motivated. Fast forward to 2015 when Olga became a yoga student of Suzie Dodd in Kinvara, she found a discipline of yoga where injuries were not aggravated by the pursuit of a perfect posture , but supported and understood through Suzie’s Iyengar training and years of yoga experience. In 2022 Olga qualified as a yoga teacher ,( Suzie Dodds Classical Yoga Teacher Training). She uses her own experience of injury and pain to aid her understanding of her students and their practice. The emphasis of Olga’s classes are slow alignment based to support her students into experiencing the yoga asanas whatever their abilities. Olga is a busy mother to 4 children so she understands the need for self care and exercise in a weekly routine, to not take herself too seriously, to have a bit of craic and most importantly to move.
