Contemporary Reformer Teacher Training in Person 4th January 2025

So you’ve learnt the OG work on the reformer and that is totally where you should start - but you want more and you want it to be enhance your teaching and be invaluable for your clients.

Contemporary Pilates offers a lot to us teachers. Allow me to save you a lot of time and let me teach you with juice the best of contemporary reformer movement. I did a few contemporary teacher trainings and found them missing something - the depth and the principles mainly.

There is no sidelying in the OG work I find it brilliant for clients with SI Joint issues or scoliosis

I went searching and found the classical work. There I found the Pilates Method in abundance. I also learnt how to get the best out of the work for the client. However I have found myself using some of the better contemporary movements to add variety and spice to my classes. I always teach these moves with the heart of Classical Pilates so as far as I am concerned its incredible valuable. You could call me a hybrid teacher. I have also seen first hand in my classes how much my clients have benefitted from these moves.

Some of our clients will never be able for the more advanced Classical Reformer work and so the contemporary offers a lot more modification and variety - which means you can keep offering the best classes in your area to your clients.

Using a head cushion and box sitting to improve posture

In this course I have included my favourite and my clients’ most favoured moves on the reformer. Some of the focus for the day will be

  • Shoulder work - this is so important and so common to have clients with shoulder issues - this part of the course will educate you so you can really understand how to rehab clients shoulders.

  • Myofascial release of the back line - so your clients can start down into the reformer rather than in a tight back/glutes. This is one of my clients fave move on the pilates stratosphere.

  • Standing work - plenty of variety here. Both on the ground and on the bar and side box. You are really going to learn how to lunge.

  • Teaser preps,

  • Hamstring stretches - an absolute must in every class.

  • How to build power in your classes - this is one of the most important approaches in over 55 clients where power starts to reduce.

Ok I could go on and on - its going to be a great day. There is no exam - exhale.

Working with getting the length in the springs and the body.

You will get a library of videos that you can refer to learn the cues.

You will also learn meaningful hands on adjustments for each exercise.

My goal in this course is to make you a better teacher.
